Senior Project Architect Charmaine Hyland has 20 years experience. Her most recent role as Architect to Housing New Zealand saw her contribute to the agency’s
community renewal, a range of housing for small and large families, community group
housing, elderly housing and healthy housing developments.

Charmaine has worked with a unique network of Architects, urban planners and urban
designers, and has invaluable insights into designing and project managing large scale
projects.

A talented designer, Charmaine won the prestigious NZIA Residential Award in 1999 for
Piha Weekend House under Carnachan Architects. This and other residential projects
she designed have bought her critical acclaim in publications such as Urbis, New
Zealand Architecture and Trends.
